The Science
Terpinolene is a dominant terpene in the Haze and Jack Herer family and produces the "bright, sparkling" Haze high. It is chemically complex — a monoterpene isomer that behaves differently at low vs high concentrations. Low-dose terpinolene is energizing; high-dose terpinolene tips toward mild sedation (Ito & Ito, 2013). Its antioxidant and antibacterial profile is well-established; preliminary cancer-cell research (Aydin et al., 2013) is interesting but early.
Typical THC Pairing
20-28% THC with 0.5-1.1% terpinolene produces the classic Haze-sativa experience.

FAQs about Terpinolene
Is Terpinolene legal in New York cannabis?
Yes — Terpinolene is a natural terpene present in cannabis, food, and essential oils. It is not a regulated substance. Every cultivar on Silk Road NYC's shelf is NY OCM-licensed and lab-tested; terpene content is listed on COAs available in-store and on product pages.
Can you order a strain from the menu based on Terpinolene content specifically?
Yes — text or call our store at (347) 233-3879 and ask for the current batch with highest Terpinolene content. We have the COAs on file and our budtenders can match you to the strongest Terpinolene cultivar we have on the wall today.
Do edibles contain Terpinolene the same way flower does?
Some do — solventless hash-infused edibles (live rosin gummies) and full-spectrum concentrates retain the terpene profile of the source flower. Distillate-based edibles strip most terpenes out. If you want the Terpinolene effect via edibles, ask specifically for live-rosin or full-spectrum products.
How does Terpinolene differ from CBD?
Entirely different molecules. CBD is a cannabinoid — it binds CB1/CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system. Terpinolene is a terpene — an aromatic hydrocarbon that contributes aroma and modulates the cannabis experience. They often work together in the "entourage effect" but they are not the same compound.
